Our race began in 2014 and has been running strong for more than 10 years. The 5K is a community favorite and welcomes your family and friends to join us on Thanksgiving Day. The University City Turkey Trot is the flattest 5K you will run on Thanksgiving in Charlotte. Join us at 8AM, cross the finish line, get your finisher medal, and enjoy bragging rights all day at the dinner table! This is a great way to begin your Thanksgiving morning and support a good cause. The University City Turkey Trot supports Sickle Cell Partners of the Carolinas, a nonprofit established in 2009 to support patients and families affected by sickle cell disease, a hereditary illness.
